Create a $4 smoke deflector for your Char-Griller Akorn Smoker

If you have a Char-Griller Akorn Kamado smoker and don't want to spend $40 on a smoke deflector stone, you can do it for $4 with a cheap pizza pan.

What you need:

1. Cheap 16" pizza pan
2. Sharpie or other marking device
3. Tin Snips

Take the pizza pan and set it on the notches in the bottom of the smoker.








Mark just inside the notches with a marker.

Cut the marks about 1" in towards the middle.Bend the larger sections inward and flatten the smaller sections

Place the finished smoke deflector between the notches in the smoker.

Set a foil pan on top and fill it with water.  I use catering trays from Costco($6 for 20 of them).
